Scholarships
Marsha Nagg Memorial A-R Band Scholarship: You must be a member of the A-RHS Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra, or Color Guard during the 25-26 school year. You must have a GPA of 87% or higher. You must not have more than 5 days of unexcused absences from school. Applications are due May 12th. Applications can be found on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria.
Armstrong County Health Care Consortium Nursing Scholarship: High school students accepted into a health care education program may apply. Applicant must live in Armstrong County. Applications are available on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria. All applications must be received by 4:00 p.m., on April 15, 2026, at the address on the application.
Tri County Workforce Investment Board Artificial Intelligence/Robotics Scholarship: Applicants must plan on pursuing a diploma, degree, or certificate in an AI/ROBOTICS Field. This includes cybersecurity, robotics, engineering, automation, design, mechatronics, Computer Science, etc. Applications are available on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria. All applications must be received by 4:00 p.m., on April 30, 2026, at the address on the application.
Desk and Derrick Club Scholarship: Seniors must plan to pursue a 4-year energy related degree at an accredited college or university OR enroll in an accredited trade or vocational degree program to learn an industry-related skill or trade. Applications are available on the scholarship board in the cafeteria. Scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than June 30, 2026.
Tri County Technology Consortium Scholarship: Three, $1000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who have been accepted into an IT or technology education program. They must pursue a degree, diploma, or certificate in a post-secondary IT/technology education program. All applications must be received by 4:00 p.m., on April 21, 2026, at the address on the application.

Armstrong Center for Community Learning: This organization has four scholarships Armstrong County residents can apply for.
- Armstrong Center for Community Learning Post Secondary Scholarship-Priority will be given to first generation college students.
- Future Nurses of Armstrong County Scholarship-Must plan on pursuing nursing education for practical, diploma, associates and/or bachelor's nursing degrees.
- William R. Schall Memorial Scholarship-Must plan on pursuing a career in an environmental or agricultural field. Applicants must enroll in either a trade school, community college, or four-year universities.
- Future TEachers of Armstrong County Scholarship-Open to eligible students preparing for careers in teaching or education-related fields
Each scholarship requires at least a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Bernie Smith Scholarship: The Bernie Smith Memorial Scholarship is presented yearly to one student from Armstrong, Indiana, and Clarion Counties. The honorees are chosen from the graduating class. Eligible students are those most exemplifying the mission of the Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug & Alcohol Commission by way of their involvement, leadership, and accomplishments through their high school career. Bernie Smith Scholarship - High School Students Apply Today - AICDAC
The Ritton Family Foundation: Applicants that reside in Appalachia Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland or Kentucky are eligible. High school seniors enrolling in, and students continuing attendance at, college, university, trade school or technical program, full-time while earning a degree or certificate, are encouraged to apply. Passavant Memorial Homes Foundation community Service Scholarship: Candidate must be a graduating high school senior in 2024 – 2025 school year. Candidate must be graduating from a high school in one of the following western Pennsylvania counties: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Butler, Cambria, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, Venango, Washington, or Westmoreland. Candidate must be qualified and planning to attend an accredited two- or four-year post-secondary education program. Candidate must complete the application form in its entirety, including all letters, references, and essay information. If requested, the candidate must be available to participate in an interview with the PMHF’s Scholarship Review Committee. Levi Shellhammer Baseball Scholarship: THIS IS AN APOLLO-RIDGE ONLY SCHOLARSHIP The applicant must participate as a baseball athlete, manager, or trainer and must have participated in the A-R baseball program for at least 2 years. The applicant must plan to enroll in an institution of higher learning/trade or apprenticeship program/military branch within 12 months of graduation. Applications are available on the scholarship board in the cafeteria and are due March 31, 2026.
Caleb Eli Altmire Scholarship: This is an Apollo-Ridge only scholarship. Applicant must have strong academics, participate in school activities, and have financial need. Applications are due April 23, 2026.

Bryja-Blystone Scholarship: This scholarship is only for A-RHS students. The Bryja-Blystone Scholarship is now offered to graduating seniors who plan to major in secondary education with certification either in mathematics or a science related content area. This scholarship is funded by the Bernie Blystone Family and is in honor of Mr. Walt Bryja, former science teacher at Apollo-Ridge High School who was valued for his enthusiasm and impact on the learning of students. The scholarship award is a total of $1,000, which will be awarded upon completion of the recipient’s freshman year of college. Applications are due May 1. Applications are available on the scholarship board in the cafeteria.
Evergreen Garden Club: Applicant must be a resident of Indiana County, have a GPA of 3.25 and intend to study in one of the following fields, agriculture, agronomy, biology, botany, civic planning, earth sciences, environmental or environmental health studies, forestry, land conservation, horticulture, landscape architecture, landscape design, land management, plant pathology, water conservation, or turf grass management. Applications are available on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria. Applications must be postmarked by May 31.
PA Grow Grants:There are over 460 eligible programs of study or majors that lead to in-demand occupations in a variety of fields, such as agriculture, business, education, computer science, STEM, nursing, allied health, and criminal justice. Review the Grow PA Grant Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) Codes for a list of majors.
For more information and to complete an application visit, Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program. Please read all the information carefully prior to applying for the grant. After graduation, you must commit to live and work in Pennsylvania, within an in-demand occupation, for a number of years equal to the number of years in which you received the grant. That means your total years of Grow PA Grant funding must equal your total years of qualifying employment in the state—up to 4 years. If the degree or work requirement is not satisfied, you will be required to repay the Grow PA Grant.
Louise C. Prenni Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is only available to Apollo-Ridge students! Applicants will be required to write an essay on the teacher that is the MOST positive role model for students. Students planning to attend any type of post-secondary education in the fall of 2026 may apply. Applications are due March 6, 2026 and can be found on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria.
Cindy Murray Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is only available to Apollo-Ridge students! This scholarship is for a senior who has been an active participant in band or chorus. The student must be accepted to pursue a 4-year degree at an accredited college or university. Applications are due to Mrs. Lukehart on or before March 6, 2026. Applications can be found on Scholarship Board in the cafeteria.
Apollo-Ridge Education Association (A-REA) Scholarship: This scholarship is only available to Apollo-Ridge students! This scholarship is awarded to a senior furthering their education at a trade school, technical school, nursing school, or a two- or four-year college or university. Applicant must have at least a 2.5 GPA. Applications are available on Scholarship Board in the cafeteria and are due March 6, 2026.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices DREAM-INNOVATE-GROW College Scholarship: To be eligible, the applicant must be a high school senior and plan to attend a college, university, or trade school in the fall of 2026. Recipients of the scholarships are eligible for renewal for up to the first four years of college, provided the student maintains a cumulative 3.25 GPA; thus, making the value of this scholarship worth $4,000. Helping Our Helpers Future Provider Scholarship: Applicants must plan to pursue a degree in one of the following fields of study: Social Work, Sociology, Counseling, Human Services, Psychology or Chemical Dependency. Applicants can apply at Scholarships - Bridge Builders Community Foundations.
Apollo Chapter #125 Order of the Eastern Star Scholarship: Applicants must submit a letter to the chapter requesting financial assistance with a statement regarding how this funding will assist them in meeting their educational goals. Also, the applicant must complete a scholarship application form, provide a letter of acceptance or proof of registration in an educational program at a technical school or two- or four-year college, a letter of recommendation from a teacher or other adult mentor, and proof of Minimum GPA of 3.5 (transcript of grades) for high school or technical school students. Applications must be submitted by April 1, 2026, and are available on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria.
Students Thriving with Epilepsy or Seizure Disorder Scholarship: Ten scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who have epilepsy/seizure disorder and are going to a post-secondary school. Applicant must be a legal resident of Western or Central PA. Applications are available on the Scholarship board in the cafeteria. Applications are due to the Epilepsy Association of Western and Central PA by April 7, 2025.

TCWIB Artificial Intelligence/Robotics Scholarship: Tri-County Workforce Investment Board will be awarding $2,000 Artificial Intelligence/Robotics Scholarships to students in Armstrong, Butler, or Indiana Counties. Students attending post-secondary education for degrees, certificates, or programs in robotics/AI are encouraged to apply. Students may be attending trade schools, community colleges, colleges, or universities. Applications are due December 4, 2025 by 4pm. Elks National Foundation Scholarship Programs:

Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships available to children and grandchildren of Elks members. Application deadline is February 2, 2026.

Most Valuable Student Scholarship: Five hundred national scholarships will be awarded. Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks. Applications are due November 12.
