Bubba Difilippo Scholarship:  Applicants must be planning to enter a trade technical school, apprenticeship program or pursue a college degree in the agricultural industry.  Applications are available on the Scholarship board in the cafeteria.  Apply by May 15.
 
Indiana/Westmoreland Council of Governments Scholarship:  Applicants must be a high school senior pursuing a postsecondary education in all fields of study..  Applicants must reside in Blacklick Township or Young Township.  Applications are available on the Scholarship board in the cafeteria.  Apply by May 9, 2025.
 
Mechanical Contractors Association of Western PA Scholarship:  Applicants must be enrolled in a plumbing, HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, Construction/Project Management, Architecture, or other Construction related major.  Applications are available on the Scholarship board in the cafeteria. PA Grow Grants:There are over 460 eligible programs of study or majors that lead to in-demand occupations in a variety of fields, such as agriculture, business, education, computer science, STEM, nursing, allied health, and criminal justice.  Review the Grow PA Grant Classification of Instructional Program (CIP) Codes for a list of majors.

For more information and to complete an application visit, Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program.  Please read all the information carefully prior to applying for the grant.  After graduation, you must commit to live and work in Pennsylvania, within an in-demand occupation, for a number of years equal to the number of years in which you received the grant. That means your total years of Grow PA Grant funding must equal your total years of qualifying employment in the state—up to 4 years.  If the degree or work requirement is not satisfied, you will be required to repay the Grow PA Grant.

 

 
Bridging the Dream Scholarship:  High school seniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and plan to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution or a continuing education program during the 2025-2026 academic year are eligible. Applicants must demonstrate leadership skills and strong moral character and submit a short video sharing a unique perspective, passion, or curiosity that drives their academic interests.  Apply at Bridging the Dream Scholarships for HS Seniors | Sallie Mae Fund by April 25. 
 
Evergreen Garden Club:  Applicant must be a resident of Indiana County, have a GPA of 3.25 and intend to study in one of the following fields, agriculture, agronomy, biology, botany, civic planning, earth sciences, environmental or environmental health studies, forestry, land conservation, horticulture, landscape architecture, landscape design, land management, plant pathology, water conservation, or turf grass management.  Applications are available on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria.  Applicaitons must be postmarked by May 31.
 
Bryja-Blystone Scholarship:  This scholarship is only for A-RHS students.  The Bryja-Blystone Scholarship is now offered to graduating seniors who plan to major in secondary education with certification either in mathematics or a science related content area. This scholarship is funded by the Bernie Blystone Family and is in honor of Mr. Walt Bryja, former science teacher at Apollo-Ridge High School who was valued for his enthusiasm and impact on the learning of students.  The scholarship award is a total of $1,000, which will be awarded upon completion of the recipient’s freshman year of college.  Applicaitons are due May 1.  Applications are available on the Class of 2025 Team and the scholarship board in the cafeteria.
 
Indiana Art Association Art Scholarship: To be eligible, a candidate must meet the following criteria: Be a resident of Indiana County, Pennsylvania; graduate from high school in Spring 2025; plan to continue the study of art in college, university, or accredited art school; submit three pieces of artwork for consideration by our Indiana Art Association judges. Drop off and judging will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at The Artist’s Hand Gallery (located at 732 Philadelphia Street, Indiana, PA 15701).  Applications are available on the Scholarship bulletin board in the cafeteria.

Caleb Eli Altmire Scholarship:  This is an Apollo-Ridge only scholarship.  Applicant must have strong academics, participate in school activities, and have financial need.  Applications are due April 30, 2025.
Applications can be found on the Scholarship channel of the Class of 2025 Team or on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria. 
 
Louise V. Nelson Scholarship:  This is an Apollo-Ridge only scholarship.  This scholarship will be awarded to a student at Apollo-Ridge High School who plans to further his/her education.  Students who receive this award must have high academic achievement, a strong commitment to Apollo-Ridge High School and exceptional involvement in the community.  Applications are available on the scholarship board in the cafeteria.  The application is due April 25, 2025
 
Egley Scholarship:  This is an Apollo-Ridge only scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to a senior with academic potential to further education in an academic, vocational, or technical field.  Your family must display financial need.  The applications is due April 25, 2025.  Applications are available on the scholarship board in the cafeteria.
Max Rubin Scholarship:  This is an Apollo-Ridge only scholarship.  The scholarship will be awarded to a senior with academic potential to further education in an academic, vocational, or technical field.  The student must also have been accepted at a four-year college, two-year college, or technical school (including trade, nursing, or business).  Applications are due to Mrs. Lukehart by April 25, 2025 . Applications are available on the scholarship board in the cafeteria.
 
Pittsburgh Metropolitan Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation:  Applicant must plan on attending a 4-year or 2-year college, university, trade school, have a 3.0 GPA, and at least one parent or grandparent of Hispanic ancestry. Applications are available on the Scholarship board in the cafeteria.  Deadline is April 30, 2025.
 
Cook Vandergrift Community Engagement Scholarship:  This is an Apollo-Ridge only scholarship.  The successful candidate will have been accepted to an accredited post-secondary school, a G.P.A. of 80% or higher, and not have missed more than 5 days of Unexcused Absences from school.  Applications are available on the Class of 2025 Team and the scholarship board in the cafeteria.  Deadline is April 28, 2025.
 
Armstrong County Herb Group:  Applicants must plan to major in one of the following programs: forestry, state park ranger, earth sciences: educational, environmental, conservation, agricultural, nutrition/dietician, science teacher (VO AG Tech School) and natural studies.  Applications are due April 26, 2025.  Applications are available on the scholarship board in the cafeteria.

2005 Desk and Derrick Club Scholarship: Seniors must plan to pursue a 4-year degree at an accredited Western PA college or university OR enroll in a Western PA accredited trade or vocational degree program to learn an industry-related skill or trade.  Applications are available on the scholarship board in the cafeteria.  Scholarship applications must be postmarked no later than June 30, 2025. 
 
Marsha Nagg Memorial A-R Band Scholarship: You must be a member of the A-RHS Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Pit Orchestra, or Color Guard during the 24-25 school year.  You must have a GPA of 87% or higher.  You must not have more than 5 days of unexcused absences from school.  Applications are due May 14th. Applications can be found on the Scholarship channel of the Class of 2025 Team or on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria.

Tri County Technology Consortium Scholarship:  Three, $1000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors who have been accepted into an IT or technology education program.  Applicants be accepted in their major course of study before April 4.  They must pursue a degree, diploma, or certificate in a post-secondary IT/technology education program.  All applications must be received by 4:00 p.m., on March 28, 2025, at the address on the application.

Armstrong County Health Care Consortium Nursing Scholarship:  High school students accepted into a health care education program may apply.  Applicant must live in Armstrong County.  Applications are available on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria.  All applications must be received by 4:00 p.m., on March 28, 2025, at the address on the application.

Armstrong Center for Community Learning:  This organization has three scholarships Armstrong County residents can apply for.
  • Armstrong Center for Community Learning Post Secondary Scholarship-Priority will be given to first generation college students.
  • Future Nurses of Armstrong County Scholarship-Must plan on pursuing nursing education for practical, diploma, associates and/or bachelor's nursing degrees.
  • William R. Schall Memorial Scholarship-Must plan on pursuing a career in an environmental or agricultural field.   Applicants must enroll in either a trade school, community college, or four-year universities.
 
Each scholarship requires at least a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Added 1/22/25 Apollo Chapter #125 Order of the Eastern Star Scholarship: Applicants must submit a Letter to the Chapter requesting financial assistance with a statement regarding how this funding will assist them in meeting their educational goals. Completes a scholarship application form.  Provide a letter of acceptance or proof of registration in an educational program at a technical school, two- or four-year college, a Letter of recommendation from a teacher or other adult mentor, and proof of Minimum GPA of 3.5 (transcript of grades) for high school or technical school students.  Applications must be submitted by April 1.  Applications are available on the bulletin in the cafeteria.  If you'd like a Word copy, please chat Mrs. Lukehart in Teams.  
 
Added 1/22/25 AES Engineering Scholarship: AES Engineering believes that achieving a high-grade point average should not be the only criterion for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason, they offer a scholarship that will be awarded based on character, as determined by an evaluation of the essays that are submitted. Scholarships are intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post-secondary educational facility.  You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.  Deadline is October 8, 2025.   Apply at Scholarships - AES Engineering
 
Added 1/22/25 Bernie Smith Scholarship: The Bernie Smith Memorial Scholarship is presented yearly to one student from Armstrong, Indiana, and Clarion Counties.  The honorees are chosen from the graduating class.  Eligible students are those most exemplifying the mission of the Armstrong-Indiana-Clarion Drug & Alcohol Commission by way of their involvement, leadership, and accomplishments through their high school career.  Applications are due in March.  Apply at 
 
Added 1/22/25 PA Elks State Association Career and Technical Education Contest:  Applicants must be a citizen of the U.S. residing in PA who will graduate from high school in 2025. The program the student pursues must be one that culminates in a certificate, diploma, or associates degree.  Ten males and ten females will receive a one-time $1500 scholarship.  Applications must be submitted by Midnight on March 31, 2025. Added 1/22/25 The Community Church of Pine Run EMC Scholarship: Since 2006 they have been awarding graduating high school seniors from the Apollo-Ridge, Kiski Area, & Leechburg Area School Districts scholarships of $500 to help them further their educational & life goals.  Complete the application with its short essay section & submit it with a copy of your transcripts & two letters of recommendation.  Deadline for submission is April 1, 2025. Applications are available on the bulletin board in the cafeteria.
 
Added 12/19/24 Leonard Miller Memorial Scholarship:   This is an A-R only scholarship. Applicant must plan to further their education in law enforcement /criminology or a closely related field. Added 12/19/24 Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation:  All applicants must be the child of a Marine or a Navy Corpsman, Chaplain or Religious Programs specialist attached to a Marine unit, have a cumulative GPA of 2.00, and have an adjusted gross income at or below the financial eligibility threshold determined by the Foundation on an annual basis. For the 2025-2026 application, the threshold is $123,000 for tax year 2023.  The online application is open from January 1 through March 1 each year. Learn more at www.mcsf.org/apply

 

Added 12/13/24 Students Thriving with Epilepsy or Seizure Disorder Scholarship:  Ten scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors who have epilepsy/seizure disorder and are going to a post-secondary school.  Applicant must be a legal resident of Western or Central PA.  Applications are available on the Scholarship board in the cafeteria.  Applications are due to the Epilepsy Association of Western and Central PA by April 7, 2025. 
 
Added 12/13/24 Ron Rolwey Football Scholarship: This scholarship is only available to Apollo-Ridge students! Applicants must be a graduating senior, with a 3.0 G.P.A., who participated in varsity football and is planning to enroll in a post high school educational program.  Return your completed application to Mrs. Lukehart by March 14, 2025.  Applications can be found on the Scholarship channel of the Class of 2025 Team or on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria. 
  
Added 12/13/24 Cheer Scholarship:  This scholarship is only available to Apollo-Ridge students! Applicant must be a senior cheerleader, who has been on the squad for a minimum of two years, and planning to attend a college or trade school.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated exceptional academic achievements, leadership potential, and a commitment to spreading school spirit and kindness to all. Added 12/13/24 Louise C. Prenni Memorial Scholarship:  This scholarship is only available to Apollo-Ridge students! Applicants will be required to write an essay on the teacher that is the MOST positive role model for students.  Students planning to attend any type of post-secondary education in the fall of 2025 may apply.  Applicaitons are due March 7, 2025.  Applications can be found on the Scholarship channel of the Class of 2025 Team or on the Scholarship Board in the cafeteria.  
 
Added 12/13/24 Cindy Murray Memorial Scholarship:  This scholarship is only available to Apollo-Ridge students! This scholarship is for a senior who has been an active participant in band or chorus.  The student must be accepted to pursue a 4-year degree at an accredited college or university. Armstrong County Community Foundation:  This organization sponsors many scholarships for students attending Armstrong County high schools.  You must first create an account.  Then you need to complete the Universal Application and submit it.  Once your Universal Application is submitted you will receive prompts for additional scholarships you may be eligible for.  Please complete the additional information required for each of those scholarships.  Although Apollo-Ridge students qualify for many of the scholarships through this organization, please be sure to complete the following applications if you meet the requirements: The Marjorie Dodson Memorial Scholarship, Erin Toland Boyer Scholarship, and the Marsha J. 2025 Pennsylvania American Legion 90th Annual Essay Contest:  This essay prompt is "Is the American Dream Still Relevant Today?"
